Ray Davies of KINKS Storytellers DVD

Ray Davies appeared as the first artist to perform on VH1's new series "Storytellers". It is, as Davies says "our little experiment, bum notes, warts and all" This performance was taped in New York City, during an extended run at the Westbeth Theatre in late 1995. Davies discusses his early influences, the effect his five older sisters had on him, the magic of writing the Kinks breakthrough hit "You really got me", in the front room of his family's house, and the accidental discovery of the beauty of distortion.
